ABOUT OUR KARATE SCHOOL
Shotokan Karate-do of Long Island is a traditional form of Kenko Juku Karate style from Japan. Master Tomosaburo Okano's (Soke) Kenko Juku style was brought to America in the 1960's by Sensei Toyotaro Miyazaki and Masakazu Takahashi to the New York City area.

Our mission is to teach this style of Karate and foster in our students self-discipline, confidence, and respect. The motto of our style is "strength through modesty".
Our focus is on traditional Shotokan Karate with a "refresh" for today's age to provide real, practical and efficient self defense techniques. If you train with us you will get stronger, physically, mentally and spiritually.
